2027 SHOULDER TENDON TRANSFER LIVE
THE CUFF IS IRREPARABLE.
THE
SHOULDER IS NOT.
The Next Evolution of Tendon Transfer
Over the past several decades, shoulder surgery has advanced remarkably. Yet complex pathologies and the wide variability in clinical outcomes continue to demand thoughtful decision-making, refined judgment, and individualized strategies.
In Yeosu, a beautiful coastal city where tradition and innovation coexist, we invite leading shoulder surgeons from around the world to take on some of the most challenging problems in shoulder surgery.
Irreparable rotator cuff tears and scapular dysfunction, in particular, cannot be addressed by a single surgical solution. Successful treatment requires careful consideration of each patient’s anatomy, residual muscle function, joint condition, and individual functional demands.
Tendon Transfer Continues to Evolve.
It is not simply the repetition of a predefined technique, but rather an individualized approach that seeks the most appropriate solution for each patient. In some cases, a single tendon transfer may be sufficient. In others, successful reconstruction may require a combination of multiple tendon transfers, arthroscopic procedures, arthroplasty, or biologic reconstruction.
Beyond a Single Procedure, Toward Combination.
At this meeting, 15 live surgeries will provide a unique opportunity to witness the present and future of tendon transfer firsthand. We will share the latest research and clinical experience, and engage in in-depth discussions on which procedure should be selected for which patient—and how different procedures can be combined to achieve the best possible outcome.
Progress in medicine begins by questioning familiar standards and openly exchanging different perspectives and experiences. We hope this meeting will become an open forum for discussion, where knowledge and experience from around the world come together and where we can collectively shape the next direction of tendon transfer.
